Summary
UST is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Gas Panel Design to support our team.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical modelling, drafting, and detailed machine design calculations.
Develop and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new product designs.
Own and execute Gas Panel Design, including end‑to‑end design accountability.
Perform or support engineering analysis, preferably including:
P&ID interpretation and development
CFD analysis
Structural and nonlinear analysis (as applicable)
Execute component selection based on functional, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Create and maintain Retrofit and Correction procedures, including documentation aligned with Change Request (CR/ECR/ECO) processes.
Support new product engineering, continuous improvement, and retrofit activities.
Initiate, organize, and participate in design reviews and status meetings with:
US Design Engineering teams
NPME teams (US and India)
Collaborate closely with:
Suppliers
Internal customers
Production/manufacturing teams
Project and program teams
Ensure design deliverables adhere to defined quality, documentation, and process standards.
Required Skills
Strong background in Mechanical Design fundamentals.
Hands‑on experience in:
Machine design and engineering calculations
Mechanical modelling and detailing
Knowledge of New Product Development (NPD) processes, including:
Concept development Design Validation Release to manufacturing
Experience working on machine design projects following NPD methodology.
Good understanding of retrofit and design correction workflows, including change management processes.
Preferable Exposure
Hydraulics and/or Pneumatics
P&ID development and interpretation
Engineering analysis tools (CFD / Structural / Nonlinear)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering(or equivalent)
2–4 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
Industry exposure preferred in:
Medical Devices
Oil & Gas
Precision Manufacturing
Semiconductor or Capital Equipment (desirable)
