About the Role
Stillpoint Talent Group is partnering with a highly respected MEP consulting engineering firm to identify a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Houston office. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a firm known for delivering innovative and technically sophisticated building systems across educational, institutional, municipal, healthcare, and commercial projects throughout Texas.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for a diverse portfolio of projects while working alongside experienced engineering professionals in a collaborative consulting environment. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in mechanical design within an MEP consulting firm who is looking to continue developing technically, expand project responsibilities, and advance toward long-term career growth.

Responsibilities
Design HVAC and plumbing systems for educational, municipal, healthcare, commercial, and institutional facilities
Perform engineering calculations including load analysis, equipment sizing, ventilation calculations, and energy evaluations
Prepare construction documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and technical reports
Support system selection, equipment layout, and mechanical room design efforts
Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop coordinated project designs and BIM models
Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, architectural, structural, and civil project team members
Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and multidisciplinary project coordination efforts
Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist with construction administration activities
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
Support projects from conceptual design through construction completion
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Current experience in mechanical design within an MEP consulting or AEC engineering environment
EIT certification or PE license required
Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for building projects
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD preferred
Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, mechanical codes, and energy regulations
Experience with educational, healthcare, municipal, commercial, or institutional projects preferred
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality engineering solutions
