Mechanical Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: 100% Onsite, Monday–Friday
Hours: Flexible within 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, prototyping, testing, and production of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role will support both new product development and existing product improvements in a fast-paced engineering environment.
The right engineer will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development and design through prototyping, validation, documentation, production support, and ongoing product improvement. Engineers in this role are expected to work closely with hardware, participate in physical builds and testing, and contribute across multiple phases of engineering execution.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, mechanically strong, hands-on problem solver who can quickly contribute meaningful design work, operate with a high degree of ownership, and thrive in a collaborative, high-accountability environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop new mechanical parts, assemblies, and products using sound engineering principles
Improve or modify existing parts, products, and systems for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, including concept, development, prototyping, testing, validation, production support, and sustainment
Create and maintain technical data packages including:
engineering/manufacturing drawings
bills of materials
assembly documentation
manufacturing process documentation
work instructions
Support prototype builds, physical assembly, testing, evaluation, and first article activities
Help establish and execute verification and validation plans and test activities
Support design reviews and prepare reports/summaries for design, testing, and validation milestones
Coordinate prototype parts and assemblies for testing and evaluation
Troubleshoot mechanical design issues and support corrective action efforts
Participate in root-cause investigations related to:
non-conforming product
production deficiencies
supplier/vendor issues
field or customer-reported mechanical defects
Support engineering change requests and design updates
Interface cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, inspection, programs, vendors, and customers on technical matters
Assist with development of project scopes, technical specifications, and statements of work as needed
Review technical materials and documentation for accuracy and feasibility
Handle technical data in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations
