About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the design and development of flexible shafts, mechanical components, and manufacturing equipment while working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer early in their career who enjoys hands-on problem solving, product design, and seeing their work move from concept to production.
You will collaborate with engineering, sales, quality, purchasing, and production teams to bring new products to life and support improvements to existing designs.

What You’ll Do
Product Design & Development
Support the design and development of flexible shafts, components, and mechanical assemblies
Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
Convert customer requirements and engineering concepts into manufacturable designs
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve efficiency and production readiness
Assist with prototype builds, product testing, and performance evaluations
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
Participate in Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product updates
Support new product launches, including prototypes, samples, and documentation
Help troubleshoot design, materials, and manufacturing challenges

RFQ & Project Support
Support the Request for Quote (RFQ) process in partnership with the Sales team
Collaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and production to gather technical information
Evaluate technical feasibility, materials, and manufacturing considerations
Track RFQ progress and ensure timelines are met
Assist with technical cost analysis and supplier evaluations

What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
1–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or manufacturing engineering
Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
Technical Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (English and metric)
Working knowledge of GD&T
Familiarity with APQP tools such as Control Plans, PFMEA, and Process Flow Diagrams
Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals (statics, dynamics, strength of materials, material properties)
Additional Skills
Experience with product development or design validation
Knowledge of pneumatics, sensors, switches, or servo systems
Strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity for learning

Key Skills for Success
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Effective communication and collaboration across teams
Comfortable working with engineers, suppliers, and customers
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Work Environment
Combination of office and manufacturing floor
Occasional interaction with moving mechanical equipment
Ability to work hands-on with equipment during testing or troubleshooting
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Regular standing, walking, bending, and sitting

Why Join Us?
Work on real engineering projects from concept to production
Collaborative environment across engineering, manufacturing, and sales
Opportunity to grow your engineering career in a manufacturing environment
