🔥 Mechanical Design Engineer | Advanced Robotics & Automation Systems
Columbus, OH (100% Onsite)
$100,000 – $120,000 + Perks | Direct Hire
We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help design the mechanical backbone of next-generation robotic automation systems used in advanced manufacturing environments.
This is a hands-on design role where your work moves beyond CAD—into real robotic cells, fixtures, and production systems that get built and used on the floor.
If you enjoy designing heavy industrial equipment, improving manufacturability, and seeing your engineering directly impact automation performance, this is a strong opportunity.
⚙️ What You’ll Do
Design robotic fixtures, automation cells, and mechanical system layouts
Develop and optimize BOMs focused on cost reduction and manufacturability
Perform FEA and structural validation on mechanical designs
Manage ECRs and design changes through production lifecycle
Work in SolidWorks for full-cycle mechanical design
Support R&D and early-stage conceptual automation designs
Maintain design data through PDM systems
Help improve and streamline CAD and engineering workflows
🧠 What You Bring
Strong background in mechanical design (automation, heavy machinery, or industrial systems)
Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
Experience with BOM optimization and cost-down engineering
Understanding of FEA and mechanical validation
Familiarity with PDM systems and engineering change processes (ECR/ECO)
Ability to design for real-world manufacturing and automation environments
🚀 Why This Role Stands Out
Your designs directly become working robotic automation systems
High ownership from concept through production
Blend of R&D, machine design, and real-world manufacturing impact
Fast-paced, engineering-driven environment focused on innovation
