Mechanical Design Engineer | Organ Preservation Technology

A commercial stage organ technology company, pioneering normothermic machine perfusion. Their flagship platform has supported thousands of liver transplants worldwide, keeping donor organs viable outside the body for longer and improving transplant outcomes.
This is a Mechanical Design Engineer role sitting within R&D. You will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing teams. You will report to the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
What you will own:
Designing mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools
Supporting engineering analysis and testing for design verification and validation
Working with manufacturing and suppliers to keep designs practical to build
Supporting prototype builds and engineering investigations
Preparing engineering documentation to ISO 13485 standards
Taking part in risk management and design reviews
What you must have:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proficient in CAD design, SolidWorks preferred
2 to 4 years of mechanical design experience
Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Good problem solving and communication skills
Experience in a regulated industry, ideally medical devices, is a plus.
