Optify Search are currently partnered with an innovative global manufacturer searching for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer (1+ years industry experience) to design PECVD reactor systems in High-Vacuum for an innovative Semiconductor company based in San Francisco.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop reactor systems, components, and assemblies
Transition designs from R&D to production, balancing performance and cost
Collaborate across teams and with vendors/machine shops for fabrication
Manage prototyping, documentation, and manufacturing processes
Troubleshoot and optimize existing reactor designs to improve output and yield
Key Requirements:
Degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field with 1+ years’ experience
Experience in mechanical design, ideally with vacuum systems (e.g., semiconductor or aerospace)
Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks) and knowledge of manufacturing methods
Familiarity with electromechanical systems, PLCs, and thermal/fluid concepts
Hands-on, creative, and problem-solving mindset with leadership capability
