Design Engineer (Mechanical) – Product Development
Location: Madison, WI
Type: Full-Time
We are working with a well-established manufacturing company seeking a Design Engineer (Mechanical) to support product development and engineering initiatives. This role offers hands-on design work, cross-functional collaboration, and involvement from concept through production.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical components and assemblies for engineered products
Apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics principles
Create 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks
Conduct and analyze lab testing to validate performance
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on new product development
Support manufacturing with product launches, troubleshooting, and process improvements
Manage engineering changes and documentation
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering required
3–5 years of relevant experience
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
Proficiency with SolidWorks (AutoCAD a plus)
Experience with testing, data analysis, and product validation
Exposure to CFD or LabView is a plus
Profile
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
Effective communicator and team collaborator
