The Role
As our Test Engineer, you will own the testing process for our world-class automotive lines. You will design, develop, and optimize end-of-line (EOL) and in-process testing systems that push our products to their limits before they ever reach the customer. From interpreting complex test stand programming languages to diagnosing mechanical anomalies, your expertise will guarantee that our powertrain products deliver ultimate performance on the road.
If you are passionate about automotive technology, thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment, and love turning data into actionable improvements, we want you on our team!
What You Will Do
Test System Ownership: Develop, integrate, and continuously improve functional end-of-line (EOL) and in-process testing systems for a variety of engines, transmissions, and drivetrain components.
Fixture Design & Optimization: Support the design and build of advanced test fixtures, ensuring rigorous torque, sequence, and positioning monitoring.
Data Driven Validation: Prepare, analyze, and submit comprehensive product test validation data to customers and leadership for final parameter approval.
Programming & Automation: Interpret and manipulate multiple test stand programming languages to refine test automation and increase testing efficiency.
Root Cause Analysis: Lead the charge on investigating failing test systems. Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical anomalies to implement permanent corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Engineering teams to streamline testing protocols, enhance first-time product acceptance, and reduce manufacturing costs.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain precise validation compliance documentation, standard operating procedures, and engineering change notices.
New Product Integration: Support the launch of exciting new product lines by developing reliable, scalable test architectures from the ground up.
What You Bring to the Table
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Industry Experience: Proven experience in a high-volume manufacturing or testing environment, with a strong emphasis on automotive powertrains, engines, or transmissions.
Technical Savvy: Hands-on experience with test stand hardware, data acquisition systems, and test programming languages.
Mechanical Expertise: A deep understanding of internal combustion engines, automatic/manual/CVT transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a practical background in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Ishikawa).
Communication: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and clearly communicate complex technical data to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Why Join Us?
Industry Impact: Your work directly contributes to advancing automotive reliability and ensuring top-tier powertrain performance on a global scale.
Career Growth: You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge testing technology and a highly collaborative team of passionate engineers.
Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy robust health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
Great Culture: Join a safety-first, innovative environment where your ideas are valued, and your hard work is recognized.
