Job Summary:
The Molding Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing molding automation systems, including robotic equipment and auxiliary devices. This role ensures the smooth operation of automated molding processes and supports continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot automation systems (robots, conveyors, sensors, vision systems) and resolve faults to minimize downtime.
Program and optimize robots (Sepro, Fanuc, Yushin, Wittmann) for part handling and cycle time improvement.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
Support mold trials, new product launches, and automation setup.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives for process efficiency.
Maintain documentation for robot programs, maintenance logs, and system performance.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations (ISO, FDA, GMP).
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
3+years of experience in injection molding automation.
Hands-on experience in robot programming and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial sensors, and schematics.
Familiarity with EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
