Position Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Test Engineer to support application quality across a modern, AWS-based environment. This role focuses on validating functionality, identifying defects, and ensuring high-quality releases across web and service-based platforms.
We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.
This role is located at a client site in either Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Test Engineer to support application quality across a modern, AWS-based environment. This role focuses on validating functionality, identifying defects, and ensuring high-quality releases across web and service-based platforms.
The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), contributing to test planning, execution, and continuous improvement efforts. This position requires strong analytical thinking, a proactive approach to identifying edge cases, and the ability to clearly document and communicate findings.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
5+ years of experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans from requirements/user stories
Solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and overall SDLC processes
Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
Strong functional testing experience, including regression, integration, and system testing
Working knowledge of API testing (Postman or similar tools preferred)
Experience testing web-based applications; mobile testing exposure is a plus
Ability to review requirements critically and identify gaps or edge cases early
Basic SQL skills for backend/data validation
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery models
Exposure to AWS-based applications or cloud environments is highly desirable
Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and how testing fits into automated deployments
Desired Skillset:
Nice to have exposure to automation tools such as Selenium or Cypress
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 - $136,400.00.
