What To Expect
Tesla's Test & Reliability Team is seeking an exceptional hands-on engineer to join our team and work directly with innovative technology in our products! You will focus on hardware validation and reliability of Low Voltage systems. Your job is to collaborate with teams across Tesla to ensure these products meet our high reliability standards. Your responsibilities span across the entire development cycle - from working alongside Design Teams during initial conceptualization, to final sign-off with data driven demonstrated reliability. We are the knowledge holders of how to properly validate the products and work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure proper scope and timely execution are achieved.

What You'll Do

Test and validate new designs before they go into production, including Wireless communication suites like 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth; Advanced sensor arrays for crash detection, HVAC control, radars; Cutting-edge display technologies and Wireless Authentication systems
Collaborate with design and reliability teams to build test setups. This can include designing mechanical or mechatronic components, electrical design, and integration testing
Develop and maintain automation-focused test software to streamline execution, data collection and data analysis
Manage and execute tests from initial setup and instrumentation through to completion, troubleshooting issues as they arise
Collaborate with design and failure analysis teams to root cause component failures from test
Design test plans to evaluate impact of design decisions and make recommendations on the final vehicle design

What You'll Bring

Strong electrical first principles skills, hands-on debugging experience preferred
Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
Proficient in programming in Python
Basic understanding of how different wireless protocols (Bluetooth, UWB, WiFi, 5G) work
Eagerness to be hands-on, understanding how to interact with a system and automate repeatable tasks
