Meet the Team
Common Hardware Group (CHG) Power is a central team that supports power design across various products like Cisco 8000 Series Routers, Catalyst 9000 switches, IoT, and many others. As part of the central hardware power engineering group, you will collaborate with various functions like Hardware Design and Test, ASIC Design and Test, Power Engineering, Signal Integrity, EMC / EMI, and Mechanical Design, growing the breadth of your knowledge, designing power and delivering outstanding products to the market.
Your Impact
As a Power Hardware Engineering Leader, you will lead a high performing team that designs and develops highly reliable Power solutions for Cisco's networking products. These products range from 10W IP phones to 3000W+ Data Center and Service Provider switches and routers.
Leads power architecture and design across multiple platforms, managing a team of 6–8 engineers
Builds, mentors, and develops high-performing teams and future leaders
Defines and drives power architecture and strategy in alignment with global direction
Leads complex problem-solving across multiple products
Balances performance, cost, and scalability across product lines
Leverages breadth and depth of knowledge to make recommendations to products and mandate process improvements, with a focus on operational efficiency
Manages product, solution and/or system level trade-offs and design decisions
Leads discussions with customers to explain solutions, gather feedback, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure feedback is reflected in design decisions and deployment
Provides input on key business and organization health indicators to enable decision making
Develops action plans for optimal resource utilization and management of financial/material resource usage, including supporting Cisco net zero standards
