About the Role
ANSCER Robotics is looking for a technically sharp and ownership-driven Lead – AMR Validation & Testing to spearhead hardware and software validation of our Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). This is a hands-on technical leadership role — you will be in the trenches running tests, debugging systems, and simultaneously guiding a team of test engineers to deliver robust, shipment-ready robots.
You will own the full validation lifecycle: from sensor bring-up and embedded logic verification to system-level FAT/SAT execution, safety compliance, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Validation & Test Engineers working on AMR hardware and software validation
Plan and allocate testing tasks aligned to project milestones and FAT/SAT schedules
Act as the technical go-to for debugging complex hardware/software issues within the team
Foster a zero-defect mindset and drive accountability across the team
Hardware Validation
Perform hands-on testing of AMR hardware: chassis, electromechanical assemblies, wiring, connectors, battery systems, and power distribution
Validate sensors: LiDAR, IMU, wheel encoders, and safety scanners
Verify electrical/electronics subsystems against design specifications and safety standards
Software & System Integration Testing
Validate embedded system logic, PLC I/O, and firmware behaviour across robot operating modes
Execute system-level integration tests covering robot navigation, obstacle avoidance, fleet communication, and mission execution
Test software builds in both simulation and real-world environments; log, triage, and track defects through resolution
Familiarity with ROS/ROS2-based software stacks is a strong advantage
Compliance & Safety Validation
Ensure AMR systems comply with:
ISO 3691-4 – Industrial truck safety for AMRs
ISO 13849 – Functional safety of control systems
CE certification requirements for European market readiness
Apply functional safety concepts: PL, SIL, STO, MTTFd, and CCF in validation activities
Quality & Process Excellence
Author and review test plans, test cases, and validation protocols for existing/new robot platforms and features
Own FAT and SAT documentation, sign-off, and customer-facing reporting
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA) to closure
Continuously improve testing methodologies, tooling, and traceability practices
Maintain quality documentation aligned with internal QMS and customer requirements
Cross-functional Collaboration
Interface daily with Design, Controls, Production, Controls, and Software teams to resolve issues and accelerate validation cycles serve as the bridge between engineering and quality — translating test findings into actionable engineering feedback

Requirements

4–6 years of experience in testing & validation roles in robotics, industrial automation, or mechatronics.
Hands-on experience writing and executing structured test plans and validation reports
Strong hands-on experience with AMR or mobile robot systems (hardware and software)
Proficiency in:
Electrical/electronics hardware testing and debug
Sensor validation: LiDAR, IMU, encoders, safety scanners
Industrial communication protocols: CAN, Ethernet/IP
Solid understanding of functional safety (ISO 13849, PL/SIL, STO, MTTFd, CCF)
Strong analytical and systematic debugging skills
Good to Have
Exposure to DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP
Familiarity with Six Sigma, QC tools, and risk assessment frameworks
Experience working with CE certification processes
Prior experience in a product robotics company or manufacturing automation environment
Experience with ROS/ROS2 preferred
Education
B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Other Requirements
Flexibility to work in shifts based on project requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
