Lead Satellite Constellation Design & Simulation Engineer
Fully Remote, US

A globally recognised telecommunications and digital infrastructure organisation is building a next-generation Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation focused on direct-to-device connectivity, broadband communications, and non-terrestrial network services. Backed by significant investment and long-term strategic vision, the programme aims to transform satellite connectivity across one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets.

The company is looking for a Lead Constellation Design & Simulation Engineer to take ownership of the orbital architecture, coverage modelling, and constellation performance analysis for the programme’s future satellite network.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead constellation architecture development across multiple LEO orbital shells.
Develop and maintain coverage, latency, throughput, and capacity simulations.
Close link budgets for S-band NTN and Ka-band communications systems.
Conduct Doppler, propagation, and interference analysis activities.
Run EPFD simulations and support ITU coordination activities.
Produce coverage models and performance validation studies.
Support launch planning and constellation deployment modelling.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and regulatory teams to define architecture requirements.

Requirements:

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Ideally 12+ years experience in LEO/MEO constellation design or mission analysis.
Strong hands-on experience with STK, GMAT, FreeFlyer, or equivalent simulation tools.
Experience with satellite communications systems and link-budget analysis.
Strong understanding of orbital mechanics and constellation optimisation.
Experience supporting NGSO, NTN, or satellite network programmes.

Nice to Have:

Experience with ITU coordination and EPFD analysis.
Background in Ka-band FSS or S-band MSS systems.
Experience supporting 3GPP NTN architectures or direct-to-device systems
Published technical papers or research in orbital mechanics, NTN, or interference modelling.
