Role Description The Lead Physical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru . This role is responsible for owning and driving the complete physical design flow, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing closure, and sign-off for complex SoC and IP blocks. The engineer will lead a small team, provide technical guidance, review design quality, and coordinate with front-end design, DFT, and verification teams to ensure robust implementation. Day-to-day activities include working on EDA tools, optimizing power, performance, and area (PPA), resolving design and layout issues, and preparing documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves collaborating closely with customer teams, aligning with project schedules and deliverables, and continuously improving methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications
Strong experience in physical design implementation, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure.
7+years of experience in semiconductor industry
Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for physical design, STA, power analysis, and sign-off (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, or equivalent).
Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals, ASIC/SoC flows, and constraints management (timing, power, area).
Experience with advanced process nodes, design for manufacturability, and physical verification (DRC, LVS, EM/IR).
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering tasks, mentor team members, and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
Effective communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and global customers, and for documenting design work clearly.
Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru South, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field; prior experience in semiconductor physical design is strongly preferred.
