IRP Systems is developing the next generation of high-performance e-powertrain systems that will shape the future of electric mobility. We are looking for a Lead Manufacturing Test Engineer to establish and lead our Manufacturing Test function, ensuring the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of all production test solutions supporting serial manufacturing at our manufacturing partners. In this role, you will own the complete lifecycle of manufacturing test systems—from concept and development through validation, deployment, maintenance, supplier management, and continuous improvement. You will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers while working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Mechanical, Electronics, Firmware, and Product Engineering teams to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient production testing.

About us:

IRP Systems is an Israeli deep-tech company at the forefront of electric vehicle (EV) power electronics. We design and manufacture advanced semiconductor-based power conversion systems — our proprietary In-Reactor Processing (IRP) technology enables ultra-efficient, compact, and scalable charging and conversion solutions for the EV industry. With R&D in Israel, manufacturing operations in Bangalore (India), and a European hub in Barcelona's Zona Franca, IRP Systems operates across three continents in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where speed, precision, and ownership culture define how we work.

You’ll be responsible for the following:

Lead the Manufacturing Test team, providing technical leadership, prioritization, mentoring, and engineering direction to Manufacturing Test Engineers
Own the complete lifecycle of manufacturing test systems, including specification, development, validation, deployment, maintenance and upgrades
Define the technical roadmap for production test equipment, improving reliability, scalability, maintainability, and manufacturing efficiency
Lead sourcing decisions for manufacturing test solutions, including make-versus-buy analysis, supplier selection, RFQ preparation, technical reviews, project execution, and final acceptance
Drive root cause analysis of tester failures and production test issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions
Lead the validation and release of new test systems and software revisions, ensuring compliance with internal validation procedures, including Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electronics, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to develop robust production test solutions for new products and production changes
Analyze tester performance, production yield, cycle time, OEE, and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Ensure proper documentation of test systems, validation reports, maintenance procedures, work instructions, and technical standards
Support manufacturing ramp-up activities and new product introductions (NPI)
Provide technical support during internal and external audits related to manufacturing test systems and equipment
Act as the primary technical interface for all manufacturing test-related activities with internal engineering teams and external partners

Skills and Qualifications::

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience defining and deploying automated manufacturing test systems (FCT, EOL, …), including test strategy, hardware architecture, fixtures, instrumentation, and software integration
Strong understanding of electronic hardware, instrumentation, fixtures, ATE, data acquisition, and industrial communication interfaces
Experience with test software development or maintenance (C#, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar platforms is an advantage)
Solid understanding of statistical analysis, MSA, process capability, SPC, and manufacturing quality methodologies
Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues and perform structured root cause analysis
Strong organizational and communication skills (proficiency in English required)
Willingness to travel frequently to manufacturing partners

Advantages:

Experience in automotive, EV, or Tier-1 manufacturing environments
Experience testing Motor Control Units (MCUs) or e-powertrain systems
Experience leading technical teams
Familiarity with production data analytics
