Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Lead Engineer based in Charlevoix, MI. The Lead Engineer will oversee the design, development, and improvement of innovative window and door products. Key responsibilities include managing product testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues and leading the engineering team to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Proficiency in product design, materials science, and engineering principles
Leadership and team management skills
Strong skills in CAD software and other engineering tools
Experience with manufacturing processes, process improvement, and quality assurance
Ability to analyze and interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings
Excellent problem-solving abilities and project management skills
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
Familiarity with industry standards and certifications in the fenestration or construction sectors
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required
Industry certifications, such as those from FGIA or NAMI are a plus
Experience in the commercial window and door industry is highly desirable but not mandatory
