Lead Electronic Verification & Validation Engineer
Location: Dayton, OH
Duration: 12-Month Contract (with possible extensions or contract-to-hire potential)
Pay Rate: $80–$83/hour
Travel: Approximately 10%

Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Electronic Verification & Validation Engineer to lead verification and validation activities for advanced electronic sensing systems used in demanding equipment applications. This role is responsible for developing validation strategies, coordinating testing efforts, evaluating results, and supporting product release decisions to ensure performance, reliability, and quality requirements are achieved.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electronic product development, validation planning, reliability testing, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Validation Planning & Strategy
• Develop and maintain Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R).
• Translate product requirements, risk assessments, and FMEA outputs into comprehensive validation plans.
• Define test methods, validation coverage, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure traceability between requirements and validation activities.
Test Execution & Coordination
• Plan and coordinate validation activities across simulation, laboratory, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), environmental, durability, and field testing environments.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external testing resources.
• Ensure test readiness, proper execution, and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor testing progress and resolve issues impacting schedules or deliverables.
Evaluation & Product Release Support
• Analyze validation results and ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
• Provide technical assessments and recommendations based on test outcomes.
• Support product readiness reviews and release decisions.
• Document findings and communicate results to stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with mechanical, electrical, firmware, systems, and quality teams throughout development.
• Align validation plans with project schedules, milestones, and resource availability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to validation processes and best practices.
• Support risk mitigation activities and product quality objectives.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience supporting electronic product development and validation activities.
• Experience developing and executing DVP&R documentation.
• Knowledge of verification and validation methodologies.
• Understanding of FMEA and risk-based validation approaches.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into structured validation plans.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with IMUs, MEMS sensors, angle sensors, or related sensing technologies.
• Background in reliability, durability, environmental, or performance testing.
• Hands-on laboratory and validation testing experience.
• Experience supporting industrial, automotive, agricultural, construction, heavy equipment, or off-highway products.
• Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments.
• Experience working within structured product development and quality systems.
Work Environment
• Collaborative engineering and testing environment.
• Approximately 10% travel.
• Cross-functional interaction with systems, firmware, mechanical, electrical, and quality teams.
