Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and curious Lab Engineer to join our testing and support team. This role is central to the development lifecycle of our electromechanical products. You will be exposed to a wide variety of test systems and product categories, making this an ideal position for someone eager to broaden their technical horizon.
You will primarily support projects involving switch mode power electronics, signal integrity analysis, and mechanical product validation. The ideal candidate thrives on the bench, enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, and is excited by the challenge of mastering new equipment and simulation software constantly as the lab evolves.
Key Responsibilities:
Bench Testing & Validation: Operate a wide range of laboratory test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, LCR meters) to verify product performance against specifications.
Power Electronics Support: Assist in the testing and characterization of switchmode power supplies, including efficiency measurements, thermal profiling, and parametric analysis
Signal Integrity & Electromagnetics: Conduct signal integrity tests using VNA. Learn to interpret and work with S-parameter files to analyze and improve the channel.
Mechanical Product Support: Perform functional testing and validation on mechanical assemblies, including fixture design support and prototype validation.
Simulation & Modeling: Utilize simulation software to model circuit behavior or mechanical properties, comparing simulation results with physical bench data to validate models.
Documentation: Maintain accurate test logs, generate reports for R&D teams, and document procedures for equipment usage.
Continuous Learning: Actively learn and adapt to new test methodologies, emerging equipment, and evolving product lines to support the lab's expansion.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Hands-On Experience: Strong comfort level with working at an electronics bench. You must be able to confidently handle probes, soldering irons, and complex test instrumentation.
Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of DC/DC power conversion principles, AC/DC waveforms, and basic digital/analog circuit theory.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to troubleshoot issues logically and document findings clearly for engineers working on the design side.
Adaptability: A strong desire to learn new technologies. This role involves frequent exposure to different product lines, requiring flexibility and a quick learning curve.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, LTSpice, Ansys, MATLAB/Simulink, or FEA software).
Knowledge of Signal Integrity fundamentals (impedance control, eye diagrams, termination).
Familiarity with environmental testing (thermal chambers, vibration tables).
Experience designing or building test fixtures for electromechanical products.
