We are seeking a talented and motivated engineer with strong experience in healthcare interoperability, EMR integrations, and healthcare messaging standards. You’ll be part of a cross-functional engineering team building scalable healthcare integrations and interoperability solutions that connect providers, healthcare organizations, and digital health platforms.
You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining integrations using HL7, FHIR, and Mirth Connect — helping shape the future of connected digital healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain healthcare integrations using HL7 v2, FHIR APIs, and Mirth Connect.
Develop and support bidirectional integrations with EMR/EHR systems
Create and manage interface engines, message transformations, routing, and data mapping workflows.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to healthcare messaging, interoperability, and data exchange.
Collaborate closely with engineering, product, implementation, and customer success teams to deliver reliable integration solutions.
Ensure integrations meet HIPAA, security, and healthcare compliance requirements.
Develop and maintain technical documentation for interfaces, APIs, and integration workflows.
Monitor integration performance, reliability, and uptime while implementing best practices for scalability and maintainability.
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to interoperability strategy and technical direction.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in healthcare integration engineering or interoperability solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with HL7 v2.x messaging standards.
Experience implementing and supporting FHIR APIs and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
Deep expertise with Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect), including channel development, transformations, filters, and connectors.
Experience integrating with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical data exchange, and interoperability best practices.
Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML, and healthcare data formats.
Proficiency with SQL and database systems for integration troubleshooting and reporting.
Familiarity with cloud environments and secure integration architectures.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
Nice to Have
Experience with SMART on FHIR applications and OAuth2/OpenID Connect authentication flows.
Knowledge of CCD/C-CDA, X12, EDI, or other healthcare data exchange standards.
Experience with AWS or cloud-native healthcare infrastructure.
Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
Experience with containerized deployments using Docker or Kubernetes.
Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
Previous experience in digital health, telemedicine, or healthcare SaaS platforms.
What We Offer
