Job Title: Sr In-Plant Logistics Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Duration: Direct Hire Full Time Role
Responsibilities:
Design and optimize warehouse layouts, storage systems, and material flow processes to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
Develop and implement material handling strategies, including line-side delivery, replenishment, and transportation routes.
Conduct material flow analysis and simulations to identify bottlenecks and improve operational performance.
Lead warehouse setup, relocation, and transformation projects, including high-bay racking systems and logistics infrastructure.
Analyze warehouse operations and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
Define and standardize processes for receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
Develop inventory management strategies and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor warehouse effectiveness.
Support the implementation and optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and SAP logistics processes.
Perform safety assessments, risk analyses, and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, production, and customer teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, layouts, and project plans for stakeholder review.
Manage end-to-end logistics and warehouse improvement projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and communicat
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in warehouse planning, warehouse engineering, or in-plant logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of warehouse layout design, storage concepts, and material handling systems.
Hands-on experience in material flow analysis and logistics process optimization.
Experience leading process improvement, warehouse setup, or transformation projects.
Solid understanding of supply chain operations, inventory management, and logistics best practices.
