Job Description

The HWIL Engineer serves as a senior engineer, providing comprehensive expertise in the design, development, and implementation of real‑time, closed‑loop HWIL capabilities across multiple programs. With 3+ years of relevant experience, you will work under general direction, influence project objectives, and engage senior personnel on critical technical matters while independently delivering practical solutions to complex problems.

What You Will Be Doing

Lead HWIL Integration: Oversee design, development, and implementation of real‑time, closed‑loop HWIL simulations (including Missile 6‑DOF models) for air vehicle software, firmware, and hardware.
System Testing & Validation: Integrate stimulation equipment, conduct verification & validation of systems and subsystems, and troubleshoot hardware/software failures using lab equipment (signal generators, DAQ, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
Debug & Diagnose: Resolve complex issues related to software, hardware, connectors, timing, and overall design as a key member of the integration team.
Program Coordination: Support program meetings, provide clear project status updates, and interface with multi‑disciplinary teams (systems, software, mechanical, test).
Customer & Requirement Management: Interpret customer needs, develop technical solutions, build product backlogs, and deliver constructive technical feedback.
Technical Influence: Contribute to assignment objectives, influence HWIL strategy, and engage senior leadership on significant technical matters.
Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and analysts, reviewing work at critical points and sharing best practices.

Desired Skills

Experience leading or mentoring a small team of engineers.
Familiarity with flight software integration and verification processes.
Knowledge of industry and company best practices for HWIL test bed development.
Experience coordinating with government customers for test support.
Advanced training in real‑time operating systems, FPGA‑based simulation, or high performance computing for HWIL workloads.
