Experience: 3 + years in electrical design, HWIL integration, or related test‑bed environments.
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field; additional technical training or certifications in HWIL, RF design, or advanced simulation is preferred.
Clearance: Active Secret clearance (interim required at start).
Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of digital, analog, and RF circuit design; proficient with component selection and high‑speed signal integrity.
Proven experience with cable design, multi‑layer PCB layout, and integration of complex electrical subsystems.
Strong hands‑on skills with lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, EMI test gear).
Leadership & Communication: Ability to influence project objectives, present technical briefings to senior personnel, and work autonomously while meeting critical checkpoints.
Job Description
The HWIL Electrical Design & Integration Engineer serves as a senior engineer responsible for the end‑to‑end electrical design, integration, and verification of real‑time, closed‑loop HWIL capabilities. With 3 + years of relevant experience, the engineer works under general direction, leads technical efforts, influences project objectives, and engages senior leadership on critical matters.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead Electrical Design: Develop detailed cable harnesses, complex PCB layouts, and component integration strategies for multiple HWIL programs.
Simulation & Modeling: Support HWIL real‑time closed‑loop simulation (including Missile 6‑DOF).
Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, EMI/EMC issues, timing mismatches, and connector problems using lab equipment.
Integration Leadership: Guide the integration team in debugging electrical subsystems, ensuring seamless incorporation of stimulation equipment into the HWIL facility.
Verification & Validation: Define test plans, execute verification activities, and produce comprehensive validation reports for electrical systems and subsystems.
Program Coordination: Present technical status to senior leadership, support program meetings, and maintain clear communication across multi‑disciplinary teams (systems, software, mechanical).
Mentorship: Review work of junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to best practices at critical project milestones.
