Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an HVAC Design and Estimation Engineer based in Mumbai. The role involves designing HVAC systems in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, and building codes, including preparation of load calculations, equipment selection, and detailed layout drawings. The engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and technical proposals, as well as reviewing tender documents and responding to client queries. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with sales, procurement, and project execution teams, evaluating vendor quotations, and optimizing designs for performance, energy efficiency, and budget. The role also includes preparing technical documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements, and attending client meetings, site visits, and design reviews as needed.
Qualifications
Strong HVAC design capabilities, including heat load calculations, duct and piping sizing, equipment selection, and preparation of layout drawings using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
Experience in estimation and costing, including preparing BOQs, pricing, tender documentation, and comparison of vendor quotations.
Solid understanding of HVAC standards, building codes, safety regulations, and energy-efficiency principles relevant to commercial and residential projects.
Proficiency in technical documentation, report writing, and preparation of technical proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Effective communication, teamwork, and coordination skills to work closely with sales, procurement, project, and site teams, as well as clients and vendors.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with prior experience in HVAC design and estimation preferred.
Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
Familiarity with HVAC design or simulation tools (e.g., HAP, Trace, or similar) and prior experience in the Mumbai or broader Indian market will be an advantage.
