High-Speed Analog Validation Engineer
As a High-Speed Analog Validation Engineer at Astera Labs, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company, including Design Engineering, Validation, Applications, and Product Management.
In this role, you will participate in high-speed analog bring-up, validation, characterization, debugging, and automation activities throughout the product lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering teams to develop test methodologies, execute validation plans, analyze results, and help isolate the root causes of hardware issues. You will also have opportunities to contribute to process improvements and automation frameworks that enhance validation efficiency, product quality, and engineering productivity.
We are looking for candidates with a strong technical foundation who enjoy hands-on laboratory work and are passionate about solving complex engineering problems through experimentation, measurement, debugging, and data analysis. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Strong academic and technical background in high-speed analog devices (Drivers/TIAs), high-speed interfaces, or related technologies.
Required Experience
At least 2+ years of experience conducting high-speed electrical testing for laser drivers and TIAs through industry work, academic research, internships, or advanced project work.
Direct experience operating advanced laboratory equipment, including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, VNA/PNA, and related characterization equipment.
Familiarity with high-speed signal measurements, including frequency response, bandwidth, transimpedance and eye diagrams.
Practical experience using Python scripting for instrument control, automated data collection, and data analysis.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Experience working with optical transceiver components, including TIAs, drivers, photodiodes.
Familiar with high-speed testing equipment such as DCA and BERT.
Understanding of signal integrity concepts, transmission line theory, and link performance characterization.
Prior experience in post-silicon characterization, test engineering, or applications engineering.
Experience developing scalable validation infrastructure and automation frameworks.
Familiar with additional programming languages such as C/C++ or MATLAB.
