Hiring Electrical Design Engineer

Location Atlanta, GA

Key Responsibilities

Harness Design & Automation

Develop and implement automated workflows to convert EPLAN P8 schematics into EPLAN Harness proD wire harness drawings

Build and maintain structured device tagging, connection definitions, and functional assignments in P8 to enable clean harness extraction

Create and manage harness topologies, routing paths, formboards, flattening rules, and manufacturing outputs in Harness proD

Develop reusable macros, templates, and rule-based configurations to standardize harness designs

Optimize data consistency between schematic, panel layout, and harness documentation

Digital Engineering & Process Improvement

Define naming conventions, wire numbering strategies, and attribute structures to support automation

Implement validation rules to ensure data integrity between P8 and Harness proD

Improve BOM synchronization between schematic and harness outputs

Reduce manual redrawing effort and improve first-pass manufacturing accuracy

Document best practices and train engineering teams on automated workflows

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure harness designs are manufacturable and cost-effective

Support prototype builds and resolve wiring issues during production ramp-up

Coordinate with ERP systems (SAP preferred) to ensure harness BOM accuracy

Assist in implementing design changes and revision control best practices

What we are looking for:

Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field

Minimum 3+ years experience in wire harness design

Advanced experience with:

EPLAN P8

EPLAN Harness proD

Proven experience automating schematic-to-harness workflows

Strong understanding of:

Wire numbering strategies

Device tagging structures

Connection definition logic

Harness topology and routing principles

Experience generating manufacturing-ready harness documentation

Familiarity with low-voltage power distribution systems

Experience Working With ERP Systems (SAP Preferred)

Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in EV charging systems or industrial power systems

Knowledge of UL, NEC, SAE, and ISO standards related to electrical assemblies

Experience with 3D cabinet layout integration

Familiarity with PLC wiring and industrial communication systems

Experience scripting or customizing EPLAN environments (API, automation scripts, or configuration tools)

Experience integrating EPLAN with PLM systems

Has experience reducing manual engineering effort through intelligent configuration

Is detail-oriented and process-driven

Can bridge the gap between electrical engineering and manufacturing execution
