Job Title: Hardware Verification Engineer
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 12 Months W2 Contract (Potential Extension)

The Hardware/Electronics Verification Engineer is responsible for validating and qualifying electronic hardware from prototype through production. This role involves hands-on board bring-up and bench testing using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.), executing validation plans against design requirements, troubleshooting circuit-level failures, performing PCB rework, and capturing/analyzing test data.

The engineer writes and maintains test procedures, documents results in clear lab reports, tracks issues to resolution with cross-functional teams, and supports NPI milestones (EVT/DVT/PVT). This is a lab-heavy role that balances structured test execution with real-time debug and root-cause analysis to ensure hardware meets performance, reliability, and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
2+ years of experience in electronics testing, hardware validation, verification engineering, or hardware quality engineering.
Experience supporting consumer electronics or commercially shipped hardware products.
Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electronic circuits.
Hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging, and failure analysis.
Proven soldering and PCB rework experience, including fine-pitch components.
Proficiency using common electrical lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and function generators.
Experience creating and executing validation plans and documenting test results.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with product development and new product introduction (NPI) cycles.
Familiarity with EVT, DVT, and PVT development phases.
Python-based test automation, scripting, or data analysis experience.
Understanding of PCB design and layout concepts.
Experience with reliability and environmental testing, including thermal, vibration, humidity, ESD, or similar evaluations.
Knowledge of design-for-test (DFT) methodologies and test fixture development.
Familiarity with statistical analysis and experimental design techniques.
Experience leveraging AI-assisted or LLM-based tools to improve engineering productivity.
