Hardware Validation Engineer

Position Summary
Our client, a global hardware manufacturing company, is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer. This entry-level engineering role is responsible for supporting the testing, validation, troubleshooting, and evaluation of hardware products across platforms, including servers, networking equipment, and personal computing devices. This position assists with test environment setup, verification testing, issue triage, and debugging activities to support overall product quality, functionality, and system reliability.
This role contributes to validation and engineering support activities throughout the product lifecycle, from development through production, helping ensure successful product performance and operational stability. The Hardware Validation Engineer is part of the Engineering Services team, which works across departments to support engineering and operations teams with technical expertise in electronics, operational software, and systems integration.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in configuring test environments and validation stations designed to simulate real-world operating conditions and verify hardware functionality.
Execute validation and scale testing activities to evaluate product behavior, performance, and system stability under defined operating scenarios.
Support issue triage efforts by reproducing reported issues and helping determine whether issues are related to hardware, software, scripts, or system configuration.
Assist with troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and basic debugging activities during hardware evaluation and production support efforts.
Maintain accurate and organized records of validation procedures, test results, troubleshooting activities, and engineering findings.
Collaborate closely with peers and senior engineers to complete validation assignments and support engineering objectives.
Utilize laboratory and diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and related hardware testing tools when applicable.
Perform additional technical or engineering-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications
Foundational understanding of computer hardware architecture, including system buses, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and related technologies.
Familiarity with server hardware and common system components.
Basic understanding of networking equipment, power systems, desktop PCs, and laptop hardware.
Exposure to communication protocols and standards such as Ethernet and PCIe is preferred.
Hands-on experience or academic exposure to laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and soldering tools is preferred.
Exposure to management and monitoring protocols such as Redfish or IPMI is a plus.
Experience with or exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python for test automation or data analysis is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in a technical environment.
Team-oriented mindset with demonstrated dependability and willingness to learn from senior engineering staff.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline preferred.
Internship, academic project, or hands-on experience involving computer hardware, circuit boards, or validation testing preferred.
Basic laboratory experience with hardware debugging and diagnostic tools is a plus.

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
Ability to access and navigate various engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, and operational areas within company facilities as needed.
Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds at times.
Requirements may change as necessary to support departmental or operational needs.
