Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SoC Functional Safety Engineer to join our semiconductor design team. In this role, you will support the functional safety activities relating to the development of System on Chip devices and support tool products. This includes development of requirements from top level Safety Goals to lower-level Software and Hardware Safety Requirements.
You will conduct safety analyses to define, implement, and verify safety measures and mechanisms throughout the hardware development lifecycle by collaborating with cross-functional teams and deliver critical safety collaterals targeting to obtain successful functional safety certification.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver Hardware safety FMEA reports and perform FMEDA analysis for diagnostic coverage evaluation for Hard & Soft IP blocks and at SoC level.
Develop and decompose safety requirement specifications for SoC to IP sub-blocks & elements by hierarchy, allocate requirements to HW & SW; w/ full traceability.
Responsible for developing requirements for implementing STLs.
Ensure safety requirements are implemented correctly and support the V&V activities of safety-related functions.
Create and manage all necessary safety-related work products (Eg. SRS, safety case reports, and technical design documents, safety manuals, Impact Analysis, etc.)
Evaluate, classify and qualify the use of tools in the SoC development process and produce evidence to demonstrate compliance with safety standards.
Work closely with design (HW, SW), verification, external suppliers to integrate safety into the entire product development lifecycle
Support development of safety concepts with contribution in coverage from safety analysis (CCF, DFA, FFI, FTEA, FMEA) in meeting the safety goal.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
BS + 4 years of industry (silicon development) experience or MS + 2 years of industry experience
Relevant safety certifications (Eg. FSCP, FS Professional license)
Experience in certifying devices from concept through certification for ASICs/PLDs/CPUs with EXIDA, TUeV or Equivalent
Skilled with SysML, FMEA/FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP and requirements-management tool
Excellent written & oral communication skills to construct clear, evidence-based safety arguments and build trust in safety cases with both internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with RTL coding and simulations/debug of SoC Architectures.
Desire to develop deep understanding of end user needs and engagement with customers to enable use of SoCs in safety design applications
Desire to commit and follow through on complex, multi-year programs
Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways
Be self-driven and result oriented
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience working on JAMA Connect Requirements Mgmt tool for traceability.
