Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities for a Hardware Engineer include:
Collaborate with customers and project leads to define and refine requirements
Design hardware for a wide range of applications
Perform detailed analog, RF, power, and digital circuit design
Develop and verify digital logic for implementation in FPGAs or CPLDs
Contribute to system architecture design
Test, integrate, and debug hardware in real-world environments
Work cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and test engineering teams
Prepare design release packages, including manufacturing documentation, test fixtures, and procedures
Participate in customer meetings to provide updates and resolve technical issues as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Minimum of 7 years of hardware development experience
Strong experience in printed circuit board (PCB) design
Experience with hardware/software system integration
Solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies
Familiarity with software and scripting languages
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
Experience using revision control systems
Preferred Skills & Experience
Candidates should be adaptable and able to quickly learn new technologies. Experience in several of the following areas is highly desirable:
Design Tools
OrCAD or PADS PowerLogic (schematic capture)
PCB layout tools and Gerber viewers
MATLAB (signal processing and system simulation)
SPICE
EEsof or similar RF simulation tools
HyperLynx (signal integrity analysis)
Digital Design Tools
Xilinx ISE / EDK
Altera Quartus / SOPC Builder
ModelSim (simulation)
Synplicity (synthesis)
Laboratory Equipment
Oscilloscopes
Logic analyzers
Spectrum analyzers
Signal generators
SMT assembly and rework tools
Product Certifications
Electromagnetic emissions compliance
FCC, CE
Safety standards (UL, CSA, TUV)
