Location: Mayfield Heights, OH

Job Type: 12 months Contract

Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Hardware Development / System Engineer to support the development of advanced industrial automation and control systems. This role will contribute to hardware architecture, circuit design, prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, regulatory compliance, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop industrial automation hardware and control systems.

Analyze test results and troubleshoot system, software, firmware, and subsystem issues.

Collaborate with Agile teams on hardware architecture and verification.

Program, analyze, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes.

Prepare product design documentation and test reports.

Lead technical initiatives involving new technologies and circuit design tools.

Troubleshoot hardware failures and develop solutions.

Implement hardware test automation and design simulation.

Build relationships across engineering and product development teams.

Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

5+ years of hands-on experience in cross-functional product development.

Experience with design capture tools and reading/understanding schematics.

Strong knowledge of circuit theory and electronic systems.

Experience with one or more of: microprocessors, digital logic, analog design, DC-power conversion, CPLDs, FPGAs.

Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.

Knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, and/or functional safety design.

Experience working in a Scaled Agile environment.

Familiarity with IEC 61508, IEC 61000, or other electronics compliance standards.

Strong attention to detail and ownership.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience with advanced hardware development and industrial automation.

Experience with hardware test automation and simulation.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and technical ownership skills.

Growth mindset and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
