Job Description
As a Hardware Architect 3, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge hardware solutions for satellite communications and space networks. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of space communication technologies, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and innovative solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of mission-critical communication infrastructure, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space communications.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
Design and develop hardware architectures for satellite communication systems, ground stations, and associated equipment.
Lead hardware integration, verification, and validation processes, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Conduct laboratory and environmental testing, including EMC and performance characterization, for hardware components.
Analyze and resolve complex technical issues through structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Support hardware qualification activities, considering environmental factors like thermal, vibration, and radiation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems, software, FPGA, RF, and mechanical engineers.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, ensuring accurate design descriptions and qualification reports.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within project teams, fostering a culture of innovation.
Contribute to technology roadmaps and product innovation initiatives, driving continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, especially for aerospace and space applications.
Key Skills And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is required.
Typically 7-10 years of experience in hardware design and development, with a focus on telecommunications or aerospace industries.
Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, and experience with RF communication systems.
Proficiency in hardware design tools, simulation software, and PCB development processes.
Experience with laboratory equipment for hardware testing, including oscilloscopes and analyzers.
Understanding of hardware integration, verification, and qualification processes, especially for demanding environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of successful root-cause investigations.
Familiarity with satellite communications, space systems, and ground segment equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of communication standards, modulation techniques, and RF link performance analysis is an asset.
Master's degree in a relevant engineering field is desirable, but not mandatory.
