Responsibilities
Job Description
The group manager—Digital IC Design is responsible for leading a digital design team. He/she is also responsible for coordinating the Bangalore activities regarding digital IC design.
The group manager is responsible for the technical, commercial, and quality requirements of the project being met.
The group manager is responsible for monitoring, coaching, and optimizing the digital design development process and methodology.
The group manager supports the acquisition of new projects and participates in defining strategy goals
Detailed Task Description
Disciplinary team guidance
Coordination of Bangalore digital team regarding resources, processes, methods and tools
Set up the project plan, incl. all relevant documents (project time schedule, development cost, team, risks, etc.) together with the IC developers
Define, assign and track work-packages for digital design team
Support the team with concept work, system design & effort estimations
Evaluate technical and development risks (analysis, mitigation plan, escalation, etc.) together with IC developers
Regularly track actual design progress vs. project time schedule and report discrepancies to customers
Execute all milestone reviews together with the development team and report the results to the customer and line management
Acquisition of new digital projects
Regularly review the verification document (validation plan) together with the IC developers
Apply consequent configuration and change management
Apply quality assurance management (use of lessons-learned, peer reviews, risk assessment, etc.)
Identify & implement improvement of digital IC development processes, methodology and tools
Strategic planning, cross-functional alignment, budget management, proactive problem solving, early cost assessment, and growing up the competencies in the Bangalore site.
Empowering the innovation culture within the team.
Leading the efficiency topic within the digital design and verification team.
Qualification and experience
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar qualification
14+ years’ experience in leadership and digital design of automotive product development
Proven experience in Digital design development processes and methods for ASIC & FPGA implementation
Experience in Design, verification methodologies & development tools
Leadership experience as group or program manager
