We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

The Role

Join THE premier graphics and AI accelerator team, responsible for developing Diagnostic applications for the world’s most advanced semi-conductors. In this role, you won’t just be testing chips; you will be defining how the most complex computer hardware is validated. This position will involve technical leadership in designing, implementing, and deploying world class AI and graphics workloads. The candidate will also partner with Hardware Architecture, Silicon Design, and Manufacturing, to ensure product/execution excellence from pre-silicon through customer deployment.

The Person

The ideal candidate should be passionate about understanding how software interacts with hardware, and how we can be more proficient in stressing silicon design. The candidate must be able to communicate efficiently, effectively, and work optimally with different teams across multiple levels of leadership in AMD.

Technical Strategy and Project Leadership
Define, the long-term roadmap for GPU performance testing, feature testing, and manufacturing testing for both pre-silicon and post-silicon verification
Execution Excellence: Lead a team to execute on AMD’s roadmap projects providing on-time Diagnostic test deliveries, risk assessments, and action plans to meet our customers’ needs.
Software Diagnostics Development
Design & Architect advanced diagnostics to detect, localize, and triage GPU defects or performance bottlenecks.
Lead team initiatives to integrate customer application layers – like ROCm, OpenCL and Vulkan – into diagnostics development pipeline, ensuring compatibility and enhanced GPU testing
Workload-Centric Test Design
Lead the development of silicon-level functional tests based on either GFX or LLM primitives (Shaders, Attention blocks, GEMM, etc) to ensure hardware reliability under real-world AI stress.
End-to-End Coverage Development
Transforming complex workloads into targeted test vectors that span every stage of semiconductor manufacturing, from Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to customer production.
Overseeing and providing development support to team members.
Encourage team members to work on high visibility projects to grow technical skills and move the needle forward
Continuous collaboration with DFx, Performance, Manufacturing, and Validation teams to improve coverage, yield, and field reliability while growing credibility within the organization
Creating comprehensive updates for upper levels of management, clearly articulating areas of excellence and improvement.

Preferred Experience

Professional technical leadership experience managing teams of various sizes/strengths.
Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) phases for semi-conductor programs in both pre-silicon and post-silicon. Excellence in planning for schedules, resources, and dependencies
Silicon Fundamentals: Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes (FinFET, GAA, < 3nm nodes) and post-silicon bring-up.
Experience in working with Engineers, Program/Project Managers, and Executives across multiple organizations to align a common solution
Deep understanding of GFX and compute architectures, with proven ability to design and implement diagnostic and test cases that maximize coverage and proactively identify silicon issues early
Programming: Mastery of modern C++ and Python, with experience in Vulkan, ROCm, Triton, HIP, or OpenCL.
Experience in developing tools around test Infra automation as well as HW design for easier triage/debug.
Linux & Windows shells working environment
Understanding of AI/ML principles and some experience in applying LLM & ML models in applications
Experience with working in DevOps environment like GitHub, CI/CD pipelines
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail are highly valued
