This is a fully onsite position in our Reston, VA office location. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.

Why Join Our Team?
As a System Designer, you’ll play a key role in developing next-generation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers—from concept through deployment. Working within the GNSS engineering team, you’ll help deliver high-performance system and software solutions while applying rigorous avionics standards and advancing innovative GNSS technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design and development of advanced GNSS solutions aligned with industry standards
Design systems that meet or exceed performance requirements
Support all phases of development, including design reviews
Solve complex technical challenges across new and existing technologies
Collaborate with project management to align plans, schedules, and program goals
Define system requirements, including physical and logical interfaces
Work with customers to design cockpit displays and control functions
Support program-level change management activities
Engage with customers to understand needs and propose effective solutions
Contribute to system development, integration, and validation

What You Bring (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent)
5+ years of experience in GNSS development
Strong knowledge of GNSS/GPS receiver theory, design, and applications
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and design capabilities
Solid mathematical foundation
Experience with high-speed signal acquisition and analysis (FPGA, ASIC)
Experience collaborating with hardware (AEH) and software teams

What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):
Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
Knowledge of DO-178 certification processes
Understanding of GNSS performance standards (DO-229, DO-253, DO-401)
Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink)
Knowledge of communication protocols (RS-232, RS-422, ARINC 429, Ethernet)
Experience in avionics development

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: Level III: $100,000 - $135,000; Level IV: $125,000 - $170,000
