Job Title: Senior FPGA / SDR Firmware Engineer (R&D – Defense Systems)
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD (On-site)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret (Required)
🚀 Tired of design documentation, endless corporate review meetings, and red tape?
We are a premier defense technology solutions provider looking for a Senior FPGA / SDR Firmware Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, "hacker-style" R&D sandbox. If you want to spend your days hands-on with cutting-edge tech, building advanced tactical signal processing and Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions rather than writing design reports, this is your next move.
What You'll Do:
Design & Develop: Architect and implement high-level architectures, translating algorithms into optimized VHDL/Verilog code for mission-critical challenges.
Prototyping & Simulation: Write custom components and finite state machines (FSMs), debug architectures across hardware/simulation environments, and deploy designs directly onto hardware.
Rapid R&D: Conduct rapid-cycle research on cutting-edge signal processing techniques, RF communications, and advanced hardware methodologies.
Collaborate: Partner closely with field engineers and integration technicians to validate turnkey solutions for real-world defense operations.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience developing advanced SDR solutions.
Core Technical Stack: Strong VHDL or Verilog programming experience coupled with modern FPGA toolchains (Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus).
Environment: Confident working in Linux operating environments and comfortable using basic version control tools (Git, SVN, etc.).
Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen holding an active DoD Secret Clearance (Top Secret/SCI preferred).
Nice-to-Haves: Experience with RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Waveform Generators), debugging tools (JTAG, ChipScope, SignalTap), or basic scripting in C or Python.
Why Join Us?
100% Employer-Paid Premiums: We completely cover medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans for you and your family.
HRA Funding: We deposit up to $2,000 (Single) / $4,000 (Family) into a Health Reimbursement Account to handle out-of-pocket expenses.
Time Off: 4 full weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) plus 11 paid federal holidays.
Retirement & Bonuses: Immediate 4% 401(k) company match vesting day one, along with an annual performance bonus plan.
Growth: Employee tuition reimbursement plan to expand your technical qualifications.
