Job Description
You will be the FPGA Engineer for the Digital Logic Integration team. Our team delivers mission critical hardware and software that connects sensors, actuators and compute platforms across a range of defense programs, ensuring reliable, high performance operation from concept through fielding.
What You Will Be Doing
As the FPGA Engineer you will capture and translate system requirements into detailed FPGA architectures, drive simulation and verification, and integrate designs with board level hardware. You will work closely with hardware, software and test partners to validate the complete system and lead design assurance activities that keep the program on schedule and compliant with aerospace standards. Your responsibilities will include
Elicit, refine and document functional and performance requirements for FPGA designs.
Create detailed RTL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) and accompanying constraints to meet timing, power and reliability goals.
Develop and maintain digital logic control blocks for a variety of peripherals (e.g., memory interfaces, high speed I/O, motor controllers).
Integrate, configure and verify vendor supplied IP, ensuring proper licensing and version control.
Migrate legacy FPGA code bases to newer device families, especially AMD Versal platforms, while preserving functionality and improving efficiency.
Build and run UVM based testbenches and other simulation environments to validate functional correctness and timing closure.
Support hardware integration activities, including board level bring up, debugging and system level validation.
Lead design assurance reviews, prepare verification reports and maintain traceability in GitLab (or equivalent) repositories.
Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical and test engineers to resolve cross disciplinary issues and meet program milestones.
Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices for FPGA development, verification and configuration management.
