Position Overview: As a Foundry Engineer, you will leverage customer drawings and specifications to design patterns and casting processes that deliver high-quality products. This role also includes driving continuous improvement initiatives by identifying root causes of production issues and implementing effective corrective actions. The position requires close collaboration with multiple departments across the organization, including Operations, Quality, and Safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design riser and gating systems using casting calculations and solidification modeling results
Determine and provide process parameters required to support efficient casting operation
Collaborate with CAD technicians to maintain accurate drawings and develop models that reflect the casting manufacturing process
Perform and optimize solidification modeling to enhance casting quality and performance
Document production issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
Participate in cost reduction, process improvement, and safety enhancement initiatives
Support cost estimation activities for new and existing projects
Stay current with industry best practices and lead implementation efforts within the foundry
Attend scheduling meetings and ensure alignment with the production schedule through clear communication and coordination
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives
Experience:
3+ year in Foundry Engineer Experience
Experience with CAD software (CREO or Solid Works)
Background in welding engineering or metallurgy
Skilled in data analysis to support process improvement and informed decision-making
Knowledge of automation technologies and their applications in manufacturing
Familiarity with ERP systems
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience
Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to navigate complex, open-ended technical challenges with confidence and sound judgement
Self-motivated and proactive, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Pay Range: $80,774-$120,967 yearly (exempt)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00a-2:30p
