Are you passionate about metal casting, process optimization, and solving complex manufacturing challenges? We're looking for a Foundry Engineer to join our growing team in Tacoma, WA. In this role, you'll play a key part in developing casting processes, improving product quality, and driving continuous improvement across foundry operations.
What You'll Do
Design and optimize gating and riser systems for metal castings.
Develop casting processes using engineering calculations and solidification analysis.
Partner with CAD designers to create and maintain manufacturing models and drawings.
Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Support process improvement, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and safety initiatives.
Assist with manufacturing cost estimates and process planning.
Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing.
Evaluate and implement new foundry technologies and best practices.
What We're Looking For
3+ years of experience in a Foundry Engineering or related manufacturing engineering role.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience with CREO or SolidWorks.
Knowledge of metallurgy, casting processes, or welding engineering.
Strong analytical skills with experience using data to improve manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing automation is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
