Founding Integration Engineer (Agent Platforms)
Backend / Platform | Connect Everything
Our client is building a powerful AI system, but it only becomes valuable when other systems can plug into it, use it, and trust it.
They’re hiring a Founding Integration Engineer to make that happen.
This role is all about turning internal capabilities into clean, usable, external tools.
What you’ll do
Own how the platform is exposed to external systems, agents, and partners
Design APIs and tool interfaces for data retrieval, reasoning workflows, and outputs
Build integrations with agent frameworks, orchestration tools, and partner systems
Define clear contracts, schemas, auth, permissions, error handling, performance
Translate complex internal systems into simple, stable external interfaces
Build integration demos that show real-world usage
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure everything is reliable, observable, and scalable
Make sure external users can call, inspect, and trust the system
What they want
Strong instinct for API design and system integration
You can take something complex and make it simple to use externally
Experience working at the boundary between internal systems and external users
You know how to build robust integrations without overcomplicating them
Understanding of AI agent ecosystems, tool calling, and orchestration
You can ship fast, but with a path to production-quality systems
Nice to have
Experience with backend systems, APIs, or platform engineering
Familiarity with AI tooling, agent frameworks, or integration protocols
Experience with cloud, auth, monitoring, and partner-facing systems
Exposure to structured data systems or knowledge graphs
Why this role
Own how the outside world interacts with the platform
Work on the layer that turns capability into real-world usage
High impact across product, platform, and partnerships
What it’s not
Not sales engineering
Not pure infrastructure
Not frontend-only
Not one-off integrations that don’t scale
