Founding Engineer

Job Title: Founding Engineer
Company: Stealth Start Up in the Wealth Tech Space
Compensation: 200-250k base + equity

We are currently partnering with a stealth startup within the WealthTech space who specalizes in building AI Native Portfolio Management tools in search for a Founding Engineer to join their organization. We are looking for an individual who has deep experience across the broader FinTech space (wealthtech experience preferred) who is excited to join a lean team founded by industry leaders who have been through 4x exits before.

What You’ll Do
Design and build scalable systems handling complex data workflows and external integrations
Own backend architecture (Node/TypeScript preferred) while contributing to frontend when needed
Develop reliable pipelines, APIs, and services with strong observability and performance in mind
Partner closely with product to ship quickly, iterate, and refine based on user feedback
Leverage AI tools and contribute to AI-enabled product features

What You Bring
Experience building production systems with high data complexity and reliability requirements
Strong system design skills across distributed systems and modern cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Full-stack capability with a backend-first mindset
Product-oriented thinking with the ability to balance speed vs. scalability
Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
Track record of building from early-stage or ambiguous environments

Nice to Have
Background in fintech or regulated industries
Exposure to AI/ML systems or data-heavy applications
~5+ years experience or equivalent scope of ownership
