Jetty is the first AI copilot tackling chronic illness. Our mission is to help people become their own best advocates by giving them an intelligent partner that evolves with their health journey, helping them understand what their body is telling them.
Health data is uniquely hard: personal, messy, and constantly changing. Symptoms ebb and flow rather than turning on and off. Patterns emerge over weeks, not sessions. And the signals that matter—what actually helps someone feel better—are different for everyone.
We're building infrastructure to capture and reason about this data in ways that compound over time: rich data modeling, precise timeline handling, and personalization that improves with every interaction. Our approach treats models not as chat interfaces but as components in larger systems—generating artifacts, managing state, and themselves accumulating the signal needed to train specialized models.
We’re a small, high-velocity team with big ambition. We move fast, think deeply, and care about substance over hype. If you want to build the definitive personal health intelligence from day one, this is the place. You'll work directly with the founding team: a former senior AI leader from Palantir and a former venture investor from NEA.
Jetty is backed by the top seed investor in NYC and recently raised over $2M.
The Role
We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to build the product and engineering systems that turn Jetty’s intelligence into something people trust and use every day.
Your first job is product: shipping across the stack to turn ideas into features that solve real user problems. You’ll also own the engineering foundations that keep Jetty fast and reliable — testing, deployment, developer tooling, monitoring, privacy, and the standards that let a small team move quickly without breaking trust.
This is a deeply hands-on role. You’ll write production code, help shape product decisions, and build the engineering culture that turns cutting-edge intelligence into a dependable daily product.
You’ll be joining a live product with active users, not a blank repo. We have a solid foundation, but the architecture for deep, long-term health intelligence is still being defined - and you’ll help write it.
This is a remote-first role (with a preference for U.S. time zones) or hybrid from our NYC office.
What You'll Do
Product Development: Build the core features that make Jetty faster, smarter, and more delightful to use.
Engineering Systems: Own the foundations that let a small team ship quickly and confidently - APIs, testing frameworks, developer tooling, deployment pipelines, and the systems that connect product, mobile, and intelligence.
Infrastructure & Reliability: Build systems that scale gracefully, protect sensitive health data, and fail safely. Own CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and the engineering practices that keep Jetty reliable as usage grows.
Technical Leadership: Set the bar for how we build: code quality, architecture, reviews, and engineering culture. Help create an environment where speed, craftsmanship, and pragmatism coexist.
Build & Iterate: Know when to invest in foundations that compound, and when to move fast with simple solutions. You’ll do both every week.
What We're Looking For
3–8+ years of experience building software products, ideally in fast-moving startup environments.
Strong across the stack, with deep backend engineering fundamentals and the ability to ship product end-to-end.
Experience building reliable systems - APIs, data models, testing frameworks, CI/CD, observability, and the operational foundations that keep products fast and dependable.
Strong product instincts and comfort working closely with design, product, mobile, and AI to turn ambiguous ideas into shipped features.
Comfortable operating in early-stage ambiguity. You move quickly and make pragmatic decisions.
Bonus:
Swift, mobile, or frontend product development experience.
Experience with privacy-sensitive or health-related products.
Experience with strongly typed or compiled languages like Go, Rust, or Java.
Experience building AI-native products or integrating LLM-powered workflows into production systems.
What We Offer
The opportunity to build a product that genuinely changes how people manage their health.
The chance to work at the frontier of AI, building real products that push the boundaries of what intelligent, personalized software can do.
Competitive salary & meaningful equity package.
Real ownership and impact from day one.
