About The Role
We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to work directly with the founders (ex-Google, ex-VC and ex-EvolutionIQ with domain experience) and help build the core product and engineering foundation at Apployent.
You’ll own product development end-to-end across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI-native workflows. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys operating with ambiguity, and wants meaningful ownership over both product and technical direction. In this role, you will set the bar for engineering quality across the entire stack, with a clear path to grow into a future engineering leader as the company scales.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable shipping polished user experiences, designing scalable systems, and making product decisions alongside the team. We value speed, strong product instincts, and a builder mentality over rigid specialization.
Key Responsibilities
Building and owning core product experiences from concept to production
Delivering frontend features in React and TypeScript
Designing and building backend (AWS) and agentic systems
Building AI-native evaluation workflows and automation systems
Working closely with customers and iterating quickly based on feedback
Helping define engineering standards, architecture, and development culture
Contributing to hiring and scaling the engineering team over time
Qualifications
2-4 years of software engineering experience
Strong full-stack engineering capabilities
Extremely high ownership and ability to operate independently
Experience with modern AI development workflows and tooling
Comfort moving quickly in ambiguous startup environments
Strong attention to detail and product quality
