Job Title: Forward Deployed Engineer (Computer Vision & AI)

⚠️ Important Requirement: This role requires US Citizenship or Green Card permanent residency (EAD/work permits are not accepted).

About the Role
We are a leader in AI-powered computer vision and predictive systems for industrial environments. We deliver integrated solutions that connect edge devices and factory systems with cloud software to optimize production quality and throughput.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in deploying advanced AI systems directly into customer environments, acting as the primary technical contact and trusted advisor for strategic manufacturing accounts. This role requires heavy on-site deployment, with travel up to 75% to client facilities.

Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Deployment: Own the full lifecycle of AI deployment for manufacturing clients, from scoping and integration to production hardening and handover.
Client Consultation: Embed with customer operations and IT teams on-site, serving as the main technical advisor and primary point of contact.
Systems Integration: Integrate AI vision systems with complex OT/IT/cloud stacks, including industrial protocols (OPC-UA/Modbus/PLCs), edge inference hardware, ERPs, and cloud platforms.
Data Engineering: Build and iterate data pipelines and edge-to-cloud data systems, covering capture, model deployment, monitoring, and feedback loops.
Production Support: Troubleshoot software, networking, and integration issues in live, high-stakes production environments.
Documentation & Training: Document architectures and configurations to produce formal handover artifacts. Train customer operators and engineers in both French and English to ensure successful adoption.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in pre-sales scoping calls and contribute field learnings back to the product and engineering roadmap to help shape reusable deployment patterns and internal tooling.

Requirements & Qualifications

Required:
Legal Status: US Citizen or Green Card holder (Permanent Resident). EAD/visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% to customer manufacturing sites.
Experience: 1+ years of experience combining production software engineering with industrial automation, edge devices, or applied software systems.
Customer-Facing Track Record: Experience shipping and supporting software systems deployed into customer infrastructure as a technical contact.
Technical Stack: Strong Python development experience with hands-on use of Linux, Docker, and Git in production environments.
Cloud & OT Integration: Cloud deployment and operations experience with at least one major platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), alongside hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
OPC-UA / Modbus / PLC integration
GenICam / industrial vision systems
Networking: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals for industrial deployments, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls.
Languages: Professional working proficiency in both English and French.

Preferred:
AI/ML & Edge: Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson (or equivalent edge AI platforms).
Data Engineering: Experience designing, building, or maintaining data flywheels and automated feedback loops (edge-to-cloud data capture and model iteration).
Industry Context: Direct experience working in industrial automation or manufacturing environments involving complex OT/IT integration.
