Job Summary
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join a high-impact AI innovation team responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-driven solutions across enterprise healthcare environments. This role works closely with clinical teams, operational leaders, and IT partners to rapidly deliver scalable AI tools that improve patient care, optimize workflows, and support operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, is comfortable navigating ambiguity, and can move solutions from concept to production while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and healthcare compliance requirements.


Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Deployment & Integration
Partner with operational, clinical, and administrative stakeholders
Deploy AI solutions into real-world healthcare environments
Integrate AI systems with platforms such as Epic, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, PACS, VNA, and enterprise data systems
Build and maintain APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations
AI / Machine Learning Support
Translate clinical and business problems into AI-driven solutions
Customize and optimize machine learning models for healthcare use cases
Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize models into production environments
Support generative AI, NLP, and large language model initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a technical advisor to executives, clinicians, and IT leadership
Gather requirements and convert them into scalable technical solutions
Lead design discussions, workshops, demos, and solution reviews
Innovation & Prototyping
Rapidly prototype AI-enabled workflows and automation tools
Evaluate emerging technologies including generative AI, computer vision, and NLP platforms
Test and validate new tools for enterprise-wide adoption
System Design & Optimization
Design secure, scalable, and compliant AI architectures
Improve performance, reliability, and monitoring of deployed AI systems
Support continuous improvement and operational stability
Change Management & Adoption
Support organizational adoption of AI-enabled workflows
Train technical and non-technical users on new systems
Develop documentation, implementation guides, and best practices

Key Skills

Action oriented and comfortable with ambiguity: ability to experiment and work iteratively with incomplete requirements to assess feasibility of a proposed solution and refine its design.
Communication and collaboration skills: this role will need to be highly collaborative including but not limited to: direct interactions with business for clarifications, demos, feedback; interations with IT partners: cybersecurity, architecture, data, partners who will scale our solutions.
Familiarity with AI build cost structure and cost optimization: experience with building agents and/or agentic systems and how to approach cost forecasting and optimization.
Familiarity with HL7 / FIHR: ability to design solutions that can integrate with Epic or other similar applications.
Self-starter and genuine enthusiasm about AI experimentation: someone who is excited and able to lead new solution design and proof of concepts, and who is interested in keeping up their learning in an ever-changing environment.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
Experience with healthcare IT systems and interoperability standards such as Epic, HL7, FHIR, PACS, VNA, Salesforce, Workday, or ServiceNow
Strong software engineering and API development experience
Experience with machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, and large language models
Experience deploying AI/ML solutions into production environments
Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
