Ford Racing is seeking an experienced tire engineer to join our Chassis Engineering team. This position involves leading the development of high performance on and off road tires while working with suppliers to deliver best in class products. This position is located at the Ford Racing offices in Allen Park, MI.

What You'll Do...

Lead the design, release, and delivery of tires for Ford Racing
Manage Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT) to support program & engineering GPDS milestones
Work with Purchasing to source suppliers
Lead program delivery through various milestones
Work with FSS (Full Service Suppliers) to deliver on time with quality
Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
Develop innovative solutions for performance vehicles – including design, CAE analysis, and testing
Support issue resolution and design change management during the prototype build and launch builds
Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Ford Wheels, Tires and Jacks department
Support current production, quality and cost optimization efforts

You'll have...

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / material engineering or related engineering degree or related field of study
5+ years’ experience in Tire Design and Release experience
5+ years’ experience in Program and/or Unit GPDS deliverables
5+ years’ experience in Data acquisition & analysis tools and methods
Have a demonstrated high level of performance delivering on both required objectives and behaviors
Excellent communication and relationship skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with evolving products and needs
Strong work ethic and ability to adapt to requested schedules
Passion for performance vehicles / racing

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900 or grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
