We are looking for a skilled Fixture Design Engineer to support manufacturing operations through innovative fixture design and process optimization. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, ensure quality, and support new product introduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings with GD&T standards.
Apply locator and clamp principles to ensure precision and repeatability.
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to validate designs, support trials, and resolve shop floor challenges.
Drive process improvements through optimized fixture solutions to enhance productivity and reduce cycle time.
Develop and maintain standardized work instructions, including operator guidance and safety procedures.
Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard cycle times.
Perform line balancing to align production flow with takt time requirements.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in Fixture Design & Development
Proficiency in SolidWorks (CAD)
Knowledge of GD&T and locator/clamping concepts
Experience with time study, line balancing, and process optimization
Hands-on exposure to manufacturing/production environments
Preferred:
Experience in welding fixtures or assembly line setups
Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
