Field Application Engineer | Bangalore
The Field Application Engineer serves as the primary technical interface between Cyient Semiconductors and customers. The FAE works closely with sales, marketing, product engineering, and customer engineering teams to support design-in activities, provide technical consultation, resolve product-related issues, and accelerate customer adoption of semiconductor solutions.
The role combines strong technical expertise with customer-facing business skills to help customers successfully integrate semiconductor products into their applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Technical Support
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to OEMs, ODMs, EMS companies, and design engineers.
Understand customer system requirements and recommend appropriate semiconductor solutions.
Conduct technical discussions, design reviews, and product presentations.
Support customer troubleshooting activities during development, testing, and production phases.
Design-In and Business Development
Drive semiconductor design wins and revenue growth at key accounts.
Identify opportunities to introduce new products and technologies.
Assist customers in component selection, reference design implementation, and system optimization.
Work closely with sales teams to develop account strategies.
Technical Expertise and Demonstrations
Develop deep expertise in assigned product lines such as:
Power Semiconductors
GaN and SiC Power Devices
Analog ICs
Sensors
Perform product demonstrations and benchmark analyses.
Create technical documentation, application notes, and customer presentations.
Design and Development Support
Assist customers in:
Circuit design
PCB layout
Thermal management
Power integrity
EMI/EMC optimization
Firmware integration
Review schematics and hardware architectures.
Support prototype bring-up and validation activities.
Problem Resolution
Investigate and resolve customer technical issues.
Coordinate with product engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams when escalations are required.
Market Intelligence
Collect customer feedback regarding product performance, pricing, and competitive positioning.
Provide market intelligence to product marketing and business units.
Track competitor technologies and emerging industry trends.
Training and Enablement
Conduct customer workshops and technical seminars.
Train distributor FAEs and sales teams.
Develop technical collateral and training material.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering OR Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
Typically 5-7+ years of experience in:
Semiconductor applications engineering
Hardware design engineering
Embedded systems development
Power electronics design
Semiconductor Knowledge
GaN devices
SiC devices
Analog ICs
Sensors
Power management Ics
MOSFETs
IGBTs
