What To Expect
The Failure Analysis Team’s mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla’s products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with large cross sections of other engineering teams. Engineers and Technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle and energy product systems for existing models and models in development. This extremely high visibility individual contributor role requires extensive hands-on work who will take initiative.
What You'll Do
Design and build automated test equipment such as test PCBAs, harnesses and fixtures to make functional testing more efficient and repeatable
Integrate existing companywide test infrastructure to new products and parts
Perform data analysis on test results and present findings to requesting engineers
Oversee day to day operation of technicians performing high volume test
What You'll Bring
Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
Experience with object-oriented coding language and scripting (C++, Python, MATLAB, etc.)
Hands on experience with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, DAQs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, curve tracer and function generators), instrumentation, multiplexers and measurement techniques
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience designing tools and fixtures with 3D CAD (CATIA, Fusion, Solidworks, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as datasheets, schematics, drawings and specifications
Experience with common digital communication protocols (I2C, CAN, etc.)
Experience with electromechanical systems
Experience with high voltage power electronics

Expected Compensation
$91,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
